Thanks for the deads up. On another blog it said Peart was doing some oldies and ending up with YYZ. (Not sure I ever listen much to the drums on YYZ!)

Terry Bozzio is amazing. I saw him do a drum show a few years back: Breathtaking.

Hopefully Geddy and Alex will join Neil for an encore and play The Trees,

There is unrest in the forest,
There is trouble with the trees,
For the maples want more sunlight
And the oaks ignore their pleas.

The trouble with the maples,
(And they’re quite convinced they’re right)
They say the oaks are just too lofty
And they grab up all the light.
But the oaks can’t help their feelings
If they like the way they’re made.
And they wonder why the maples
Can’t be happy in their shade?

There is trouble in the Forest
And the creatures all have fled
As the Maples scream ‘Oppression!’
And the Oaks, just shake their heads

So the maples formed a union
And demanded equal rights.
‘These oaks are just too greedy;
We will make them give us light.’
Now there’s no more oak oppression,
For they passed a noble law,
And the trees are all kept equal
By hatchet,
Ax,
And saw.
Rush - The Trees

Thanks for the thread MFH and the ping Titan. You'll drug me away from the Canteen to watch, but this is awesome. Buddy was the tops - I dig him the most!

Gosh I love Pete Erskine. He’s 100 pounds of dynamite in a 50 pound package!

Awesome to see him come out...he was not on the list of artists to perform tonight. Nick Rich is a punk rock drummer...so this is really a big step out of the box for him.

Nick played well, but he didn’t really swing until the last eight bars of “Mercy, Mercy”. He needs to do something about that tongue eh? lol

I’m really enjoying this, I hope (I know) there will be a DVD to go with my collection. Looks like Chad Smith is up next.

Chad is proving that mucking about is fun, but he couldn’t swing from a tree. A wasted vignette imho - Buddy would be asking WTF? Get him off MY stage. Nick was Joe Morello compared to Chad. I respect the Chilli Peppers and the boy can rock, but it’s a BR concert ya’know?

Neil’s up next (last?) He’s been an integral part of all the past concerts so I expect he’ll swing our brains out. Neil really respected Buddy, I suspect he’ll solo on YYZ.

II. Temples of Syrinx (2:13)

... “The massive grey walls of the Temples rise from the heart of every Federation city. I have always been awed by them, to think that every single facet of every life is regulated and directed from within! Our books, our music, our work and play are all looked after by the benevolent wisdom of the priests...”

We’ve taken care of everything
The words you read
The songs you sing
The pictures that give pleasure
To your eye

One for all and all for one
Work together
Common sons
Never need to wonder
How or why

We are the Priests, of the Temples of Syrinx
Our great computers fill the hallowed halls.
We are the Priests, of the Temples of Syrinx
All the gifts of life are held within our walls.

Look around this world we made
Equality our stock in trade
Come and join the Brotherhood of Man
Oh what a nice contented world
Let the banners be unfurled
Hold the Red Star proudly high in hand.

Hehe, I Love that song too, but here is another

Know your place in life is where you want to be
Dont let them tell you that you owe it all to me
Keep on looking forward, no use in looking round
Hold your head above the ground and they wont bring you
Down

Anthem of the heart and anthem of the mind
A funeral dirge for eyes gone blind
We marvel after those who sought
New wonders in the world, wonders in the world,
Wonders in the world they wrought

Live for yourself — theres no one else
More worth living for
Begging hands and bleeding hearts will
Only cry out for more

Well, I know theyve always told you
Selfishness was wrong
Yet it was for me, not you, i
Came to write this song.

Great Lyric,

“Begging hands and bleeding hearts will
Only cry out for more”

I think that makes a great tagline.
