A buddy from work came over with the coolest shotgun I have ever seen. It a USAS 12 gauge with a drum clip. We took it out behind the barn and burned up 4 boxes of shells,(real quick) Got to have one of these. I looked on youtube and found this clip.

The sound of a .357 magnum thruogh a 2 inch barrel is pretty awesome.

I think the legality would depend on the state. It appears to be nothing more than a semi-auto shotgun.

Not legal for hunting though.

The drum he had would only hold 10 shells and it was a semi auto. He paid a fortune for it.

"It appears to be nothing more than a semi-auto shotgun."

I realize that. I just recall that there were laws against the "street sweeper" drum fed shotguns years ago(they may have been full autos). I was just curious if this shotgun would be illegal too.

It is not a drum "clip". It is a magazine. Get your nomenclature right, or look like some MSM-like ignoramus.

On another note; perhaps it would be best to not crow about the weapon so much? An earlier incarnation was widely outlawed (before I obtained one, even though I did have plenty of opportunity to do so).

I don’t think street sweepers were full auto. Their main sin was marketing.

As you say the drum feed was also an issue. This shotgun appears to be a much better weapon though. I found this video of the ‘street sweeper’ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwC85njIE0k&NR=1

Please spare me your ignorance. It was a round “drum magazine”, you know like the old thompson .45 sub machine guns.

The Street Sweeper was functionally full-auto. They got by with selling it for a while because the mechanics by which it repeated didn’t meet the technical definition of full-auto that existed at the time.

A friend owned one; if you think a full-auto rifle is hard to hold down when firing, you ain’t seen nothing. ;-)

I believe that they are law enforcement only. A better alternative is a Tromix Saiga-12 conversion.
