At this point, McCain 63%, Obama 37%
With over 400,000 votes so far.
A debacle.
Astonishing.

Why Freep it? AOL has been running this straw poll for at least 8 weeks. I first saw it 5 or 6 weeks ago and it’s been about 60-40 in favor of McCain ever since then. We don’t need to try to skew the numbers. They’re pretty damned good already.

Could it be that people tell the truth when they don’t have to actually talk to someone by phone or in person and can just vote...like they will do in a voting booth this fall????

I think the validation on the bottom makes the poll pretty reliable because nobody can vote twice unless you have more than one computer to vote with.
Only one vote per IP address probably

I believe so. I have always thought that people - for whatever reason - will tell a pollster one thing in public but will vote his or her conscience in private. I think this is the reason why the exit polls never reflect the actual results.

Now it has McCain winning in DC (about 50-50, but he’s slightly ahead).
