Sammy has always been one of the good guys of rock and roll...entertainer, entrepreneur, family man. He's written and recorded several patriotic songs and counts Ted Nugent as one of his best industry friends. Politically, he's probably a mixed bag...'the man not the party' he says.

The two never connected, which raises some lingering questions. Why didnt [Van Halen] say no when Pepsi Cola gave us a million dollars to use the song in a Pepsi Light commercial? asks Hagar. Thats when you say no. That isnt the message of this song. But when a potential future president is using it to bring a message to the world, he says, Im going, Hell, yes!

Hagar donated money to George W. Bush in 2004...after the War, so I find it hard to imagine he’d vote Obama. He is just being a smart businessman IMO.
It is dumb for even conservative actors and music people to get TOO political, it ticks off half your fanbase/income potential because those people aren’t buying your product for politics. It is different if you are Rush Limbaugh or a nitwit like Michael Moore, that IS your “gimmick” so to speak.
You notice Tiger Woods NEVER talks politics. Smart man.
The Hagar-McCain photos with the article have that ‘separated at birth’ feel.
Sammy is my favorite
“Right Now”, scientists are developing a better “tomato”.
“Right Now”, scientists are developing a better “tomato”.
“right now, the MSM are in the tank for Obama”.
“Right now, libs and dems are in full panick mode”
I forgot to mention that Sammy and Michael Anthony re-recorded ‘Right Now’. It’s similar to the original VH ‘Right Now’, but different enough so that Sammy could use as he wanted.
I use to live in Mill Valley, CA which is where Sammy lives and on occasion, I would run into him at one of the two or three gas stations in town.
I had a Red Corvette convertible and his favorite color is Red as he even has an old song by that name.
He would usually be gassing up his Red Ferrari and we would take about cars, women and occasionally, politics as this was during the Clinton Presidency.
I can tell you from my experience that Sammy is no liberal and my take on his views was conservative/libertarian.
This was when you were alive?
"Republicans buy tequila, too."
No, It was back when he actually got some respect.
Two conservatives having a conversation in Mill Valley? is that legal?
I saw Sammy with the Wabos here in St. Louis two years ago. One of the two best concerts I have seen live and I have seen a bunch. Laugh if you want to but Poison was the other, those dudes put on a hell of a show.
Right Now...three college-aged idiots are thinking of voting for Obama
Right Now...Barack Obama is doing things you think only other countries do
Right Now...Ted Nugent is thinking of shooting a Democrat
Sammy ain’t voting Obama - bank on that.
He’s a longtime libertarian/conservative patriot.
Listen to “VOA” off the 1984 album of the same name - that’s no liberal singing that song!
