2. Some ‘mistake’ or ‘goof’ will happen and they will be unable to provide any physical evidence at this time other than the photograph.

if they can produce samples for public verification of unknown DNA, that would at least be an item of interest. Obviously a corpse would be rather more interesting, assuming it is iced and once again given to a credible institution for further study.

Barring that, hard to see how they expect to be taken seriously.

I read somewhere that the credibility of a site decreases proportionately to the number of animated gifs, different color and types of fonts, and self photos of the author are contained on it. Based on that principle, this is somewhere in the John Titor level of credibility.

I can't believe the News media is still running with this story. If I, in a few minutes of web searching can find enough information on the people involved to disregard the whole thing, why cant the media do the same? Yesterday on bigfoottraker.com web site they had a video admitting this was all a hoax. If they do show up, and they have no body it should not be the press meeting them, but the SFPD Fraud unit.
