I've been a music hound since I was 8 or 9...back in the Fifties. As I said...yes,when we first heard this stuff it was either on AM radio or on a phonograph. Both sources of lousy sound. There is a place in that "young kid" side of me that identifies with the cracks and pops and the poor sound of AM.But I like CDs better.
As for the art,I tossed out every bit of vinyl I had that I was able to get on CD (or CD-R) but I kept the covers.Yes,a lot of the covers are cool for many reasons...the art itself being one.

Although I don’t consider myself a ‘geezer’ in any way, I do love progressive rock. Among those you listed I’d have to say Yes is my choice. Steve Howe is a phenomenal guitarist, and cumulatively that band has had some of the very best musicians in rock history. Some would argue that it wasn’t ‘rock and roll’. It doesn’t matter. It was and is great music.
Metallica, Axel Rudy Pell, Scorpions, Manowar, 2 Doors Down.
...3 Doors Down that is!
Another twist...
OK, you’re going out with 3 dames. One a blonde, one a brunette, and one a redhead.
You have Relayer, Close to the Edge, and Tales from Topographic Oceans in your CD case.
So who listens to what, and which one do you jump on first?
