There was a FReeper named "Jaysun" back in 2007 and early in 2008, who announced in February of this year that he had contracted some kind of cancer, and that the prognosis was NOT good. He received an outpouring of sympathy in that thread, from me also, who had "talked" to him in personal "FR mail" over some subject of other. His FR profile showed him posed with his new infant daughter. So it was ever so much more touching and hard to bear to hear and read him talking about not being long for this world. He made a big point of realistically assessing his chances for being around much longer, and I had to personally e mail him with words as positive as I could manage. I was thinking about him recently and went back to Feb. to find the private FR mail to me. I clicked on his name and it came up "The account has been banned or suspended". Does ANYONE know what happened to "Jaysun"?

I have no idea. I took a year+ hiatus and haven’t seen him post since I returned.
I always liked the guy. I wonder what happened to his account.
Maybe he was a fraud and someone found out. It wouldn’t be the first time. CGEB comes to mind plus the gal who said she was on the road with Bob Hope plus a slew of others.
I think that this was the one that was fake. He apologised and left.
His last post was Feb 25...

He was zotted after admitting he had made the story up.
If he was a fake, he was a pretty good one.

ANY time I start reading those sympathy threads, my spider-sense starts twitching and I call the Mods. No remorse for doing it, either.

Wow, I’m glad he’s not dying, but I’m sorry to hear that he faked his illness for whatever reason...
I hope that he got help for the issues that lead him to lie about his health.

OH, and there have been freepers scammed to the tune of thousands of $$$$ here also. Several of us never dreamed this guy would do what he did.
That stinks! I always feel kind of sorry for floks who think they have to do that sort of stuff for attention. Not that sorry but there really must be something lacking if you have to make up stories so people pay attention to you. Needs more help than anyone online can give them.

Does any know about “Ambrose”? He was an old-timer here, then just fell off map. Posted a lot about pit bulls.

That is a HUGE bummer. His thread about his brother’s hair ranks up there with yours about the Tijuana beeber-stuning in terms of sheer hilarity.
I don’t remember the whole story. CGEB was just another FReeper, is my recollection. Not particularly outstanding, other than the clever and memorable screen name. One day he/she was zotted, and there was at least one thread about what had happened.
There were worse false-flag FReepers back then. I won’t mention any names. One was a stalker, as I recall, and got arrested in DC. Something about a big-time DC law firm. I don’t remember the details. Again, no names...
He was funny as hell very smart guy but very sick I know lots more but can’t talk about it
Al speaks for me too on all accounts.
That’s a sweet picture, but there were definitely some issues with him. Either way, he’s a dirt bag for what he did.

IIRC, in 1997-98, he was posing as a Special Forces operative deep inside eastern Europe. He was exposed when Connie Hair, aka "Clinton's a Liar" ( another name from the deep, dark Freeper past, eh" wanted to FedEx him a videotape of the March for Justice, and he couldn't provide her with an APO
I remember that photo. The first time I saw it, it struck me that that guy was the spitting image of a real psycho I knew a few years ago.
Old Atlanta is before my time, he dropped off in 2000.
But Ambrose was funny too. He was suspended one or more times for over-posting pit bull stories. He dropped off in 2005.

Yup, that’s the picture I remember. I just looked up the Private mail to me from Oct 30 2007. He mentions where he now lives (Huntsville AL) and very casually claims to have “built” the house there where the inventor of the digital modem lived. Also claimed to have built a nursing home in New Orleans (I had mentioned working on nephew’s shotgun house in the Bywater about 7 months after Katrina) He said the nursing home “still stands”. THere was something off about his casual tone of accomplishment.
He now appears to have been something of a sociopath.
I feel duped.
