Some thirty years ago when I worked at San Manuel, I saw mountain lions on a couple of occasions when hiking near Pusch Ridge and when driving through Redington Pass. This doesn't surprise me as people are moving further into the cat's territory.

I lived in Oracle, off Cody Loop Road with no one behind my house to the top of the Catalinas. I sunk an old bath tub in the back yard and filled it with coarse gravel and water. All kinds of critters came into my yard to water including bobcats, quail, coyotes, javalina, cotamundies, etc. Lots of fun.

You bet you’ll draw critters in arid areas by making water available, I guess the word gets around fast.
