Very interesting....that’s right....soul and spirit are separate. I can’t say I agree that animals can’t learn, mourn, think...and some other things ..because I think they can. But, thanks for your insight....I enjoy reading stuff like this.

uh oh let me clear something up. I never said that they couldn’t learn or don’t have some cognitive ability. They obviously do because they have a brain; however, those abilities are limited to their instinctual needs and as far as mourning goes, animals do experience a sense of loss; however, I would not consider it mourning because once the animals instincts kick in then that dead member basically ceases to exist whereas with us we carry memories of lost ones and with those memories the sense of loss and longing can reoccur in other words we miss them. Animals don’t experience this. This is where our having a spirit comes into play.
