Methane (CH4) and Ethane (C2H6) are only the most basic of hydrocarbons. They are a far cry from what is commonly known as "oil", and are only liquid because of the extreme cold there.

Every oil field on Earth has been traced to an organic source.

This is not true. The only reason that oil was supposed to be of a biogenic origin is from its ability to rotate light to the left. This, however, is only a very slight rotation and is more consistent with contamination than origin.
