I'm going to start a debate called "Who's more paranoid; gun owners or gun haters" on some other sites and I'm in need of some quotes showing what the anti-gun folks think of the Second Amendment supporters.
Quotes like this:
"If someone is so fearful that they are going to start using their weapons to protect their rights, it makes me very nervous that these people have weapons at all." ~Rep. Henry Waxman
Now, before anyone points me to Google, I tried the phrase "Anti-gun owner quotes" and mostly got the usual anti-gun quotes or quotes against anti-gun people. Same with wikiquote.
“A woman needs a gun like a fish needs a bicycle.” (G. Stonehim)
How about a pro gun quote?
“Better to have a gun and not need it than need a gun and not have it.”
How about a pro gun quote?
“Better to have a gun and not need it than need a gun and not have it.”
Thanks, but I know plenty of those. Besides, the debate is more about proving how paranoid anti-gun people are rather than defending gun ownership.
"The prospect of tyranny may not grab the headlines the way vivid stories of gun crime routinely do. But few saw the Third Reich coming until it was too late. The Second Amendment is a doomsday provision, one designed for those exceptionally rare circumstances where all other rights have failedwhere the government refuses to stand for reelection and silences those who protest; where courts have lost the courage to oppose, or can find no one to enforce their decrees. However improbable these contingencies may seem today, facing them unprepared is a mistake a free people get to make only once". Judge Alex Kozinsky
“If gun laws in fact worked, the sponsors of this type of legislation should have no difficulty drawing upon long lists of examples of crime rates reduced by such legislation. That they cannot do so after a century and a half of trying—that they must sweep under the rug the southern attempts at gun control in the 1870-1910 period, the northeastern attempts in the 1920-1939 period, the attempts at both Federal and State levels in 1965-1976—establishes the repeated, complete and inevitable failure of gun laws to control serious crime.” -—Senator Orrin Hatch
For me, it’s “I carry a gun because I’m too young to die and too old to take an ass kickin’”
Thanks, another good quote for me to remember.
