SF Zoo Tiger Attack: 30 Memorable Quotes
"When he mentioned that to management at the zoo, he was met with angry denials, that it was not dangerous, that there was no need for concern. He was especially concerned about the grotto walls."
--Dan Bacon, attorney for Lloyd Kraal, who was a maintenance supervisor at the San Francisco Zoo. Kraal filed a lawsuit against the SF Zoo, in which he says the zoo retaliated against him for complaining about the grottos.
"[Like] the fox guarding the hen house."
--California state assembly member Lloyd Levine, commenting on the zoo industry's current oversight system.
"[V]irtually impossible."
--Jack Hanna, the director emeritus of the Columbus Zoo, commenting on speculation that a rampaging tiger could have climbed or leaped out of its zoo enclosure in San Francisco. Hanna ... says it's even possible they helped it get out, maybe by putting a board in the 20-foot moat surrounding the exhibit.
"He had seen instances where workers could see these tigers jumping almost up there."
--Dan Bacon, attorney for Lloyd Kraal, who was a maintenance supervisor at the San Francisco Zoo. Kraal filed a lawsuit against the SF Zoo, in which he says the zoo retaliated against him for complaining about the grottos.
"My son had his hands on the metal bar. All of a sudden, I saw the tiger leap over the moat, put a paw on the dirt (and hang on). I screamed and grabbed my son."
--Marian Roth-Cramer recalling the day she and her son, who was 4 or 5, visited the tiger exhibit in 1997.
"She always does that. She hates my guts."

Uh, you’re a little over the top on this one, aren’t you? I mean, what is your agenda here? Give it a rest.
"What would you do for a Kit-Kat bar?"
Mother to little Timmy just prior to tiger escape
How so?
Did YOU KNOW that a zoo keeper had seen tigers nearly getting out and was turned down by zoo management when he asked for an inspection by the Dept. of Agriculture?
I guess nobody has the guts to defend the zoo anymore, now that all evidence points to THEIR wrongdoing.

We’re just waiting till all the evidence is in. I will not take the word of Gregaros OR zoo officials. However, ex-employees, eye witnesses, employees now working with the zoo, etc. will be heard and considered. I repeat, NOT Gregaros or zoo officials. The jury is still out on this one for me.
Most of the quotes above fit your requirement.
Much better.
So, did the tiger get out or not?
At this moment I trust Gregaros more than the Zoo Management!
Have you asked the Zoo Administrator?
"the animal came out of that grotto"
1968, one did get out and was herded back into the grotto. Now, imagine how much more rough and cracked the wall was in Dec 2007.
