Yep, its Bushs fault these people didnt get out when they were warned that the hurricane was coming.A nurse I met who used to work down there told me that a large number of people stayed for the looting they figured they could do down there while the place was disrupted. Trains and busses ran free of charge and left empty.

It's Bush's fault that the money meant for Lousiana's infrastructure to keep the levies strong and functional was spent on stadiums, casinos, tourism, and William Jefferson's (D-LA) freezer. < /s >

Getting out of town would’ve meant leaving their “stuff” behind. Not that their stuff was worth keeping but it was “theirs”. To leave town would mean getting off their collective rumps and doing something different with their lives.
Some have seen that leave NOLA has gotten them on with their lives.
