Every time I have gone hunting, stillness and quietness are what I enjoy the most. We are surrounded by traffic, ringing phones, people talking. It's a real treat to just sit still for hours and take in all that's around you. You start to hear tiny things walking and crawling everywhere.
Even the animals find it odd when a human sits still and simply watches and listens. After awhile, squirrels and birds start to move in closer until they are right on top of you. Why is this human not running around and making noise?
Truthfully, sometimes I hope a deer doesn't come along to disturb me. Usually it's a noisy, smoking human that comes along like a crashing steamroller in the leaves. You can hear him coming from hundreds of yards away. ;)
