Be sure you get HD in a flat screen. LCD or plasma depends on the size of the screen....anything up to 42” is normally LCD, the bigger ones are plasma.
Warning: cable looks like crap on an HD TV (unless you subscribe to HD cable...it’s a little more) because the resolution is so good it shows how crappy the normal cable feed really is. I was very disappointed with my new 40” until I went with Dish network. Now I have a great picture.

Actually best bang for your buck, if you are looking for size and picture quality is either rear projection (biggest screen size for price and far better picture IMHO than LCD or PLasma) or DLP.

Yes, neither of these are as slim as the LCD/PLASMA screens, but they are far better picture quality, and cheaper.

I don’t have any of the newer large screen televisions. But at a pub/restaurant that I frequent, there are two large screen panel tv’s. I don’t know whether they are LCD or Plasma. While I enjoy watching them from time to time, I noticed that people on the screen seem to be shorter and fatter than they are likely to be. What is up with that? Can anyone advise me about that anomaly? Thanks :)
