As a Skins fan I have watch McNabb for 7 years. My take is he was only dangerous when he could run for first downs. Put him in a big game and he will choke. I have seen it over and over again. BTW, I certainly enjoyed watching my black quarterback beat the Eagles last Monday. What does it say about McNabb that when things don’t go his way (lost 6 out of the last seven games he started) somehow the color of his skin needs to be discussed. Shoosh, either you can still play the game or not. My guess Philly had a good reason to draft a QB.

Does anyone watch a game thinking about the black quarterback? Other than sportswriters who keep bringing this up at every opportunity? Maybe thirty years ago when a black QB was a rarity but not now.

Who was the reporter who asked Doug Williams, when he took the Redskins to the Super Bowl

How long have you been a black quarterback?

I am also a Skins fan and I regard McDrabb as maybe slightly above average. No one seems to take note that he has propered in the NFC East during its weakest moments. I have said it before and I’ll say it again - I cannot understand this rational that you just can’t criticize him. Hell, you can criticize all the other black QBs - Vick, McNair, Culpepper, Peete, Campbell, et al - and nobody raises a stink. But somehow it seems the NFL laid their money on this guy and people go berserk when he is criticized.

He's played pretty well in most of the big games that I remember. He played well in the Super Bowl. I think he has a winning record in post season play.

The Eagles have only been successful in times that the NFC East doesn’t have very good teams. Dallas hasn’t had much of a team until recently; the Giants have been up and down; and the ‘skins haven’t done much lately either. Like last year, when the NFC East has (relatively) strong teams, the Eagles fold.
