Jasmine, of Stanley, County Durham, was rushed to the University Hospital of North Durham after her cousin called the paramedics. Doctors confirmed she had overdosed on caffeine and after monitoring her condition allowed her home a few hours later. You know, a few beers and cigarette would have taken the edge right off.

Chocolate contains theobromine. A naturally occurring stimulant found in the cocoa bean, theobromine increases urination and affects the central nervous system as well as heart muscle. While amounts vary by type of chocolate, it’s the theobromine that is poisonous to dogs.

“Cocaine” Based on the performance by J.J. Cale
“Caffeine” Parody by Michael Pacholek
Once again, the best-known version is by Eric Clapton.
If you’re winking out, got to get on about, caffeine.
If you’re nodding off, take a drink, don’t you scoff, caffeine.
Look alive, look alive, look alive... caffeine.
Got to get right up, got to down you a cup, caffeine.
Get Colombian blend, so your waking won’t end, caffeine.
Look alive, look alive, look alive... caffeine.
Be awake and wired, don’t you get yourself fired, caffeine.
Be awake all night, drink tomorrow, all right, caffeine.
Look alive, look alive, look alive... caffeine.
Look alive, look alive, look alive... caffeine.
Look alive, look alive, look alive... caffeine.

My brother-in-law used to make a really strong pot of coffee, pour himself a cup and then add three teaspoons of instant to the cup and drink cup after cup that way.
Hell, that's how I drank it on my ship when I was in the Navy.

It’s hard for me to believe that 8 cups of espresso could have serious effect on someone’s health. The amount of caffeine needed to do yourself real harm is absurdly high.

I have to admit that I get a little twitchy after the 6th double-espresso.

After going home she experienced frightening physical symptoms. She added: "I was drenched. I was burning up and hyperventilating."I was having palpitations, my heart was beating so fast and I think I was going into shock."
Who would have known---espressos cause premature menopause and hot flashes. ;)
It's important to know your limits... This is why I limit myself to three 54 oz iced teas a day... I used to have four 54 oz mugs of coffee, but I was getting a little bit edgy, and terminating cables became something of a problem.

My brother-in-law used to make a really strong pot of coffee, pour himself a cup and then add three teaspoons of instant to the cup and drink cup after cup that way.I've been banned from the coffee maker at work. When I used to drink coffee, I came in early one morning and made some coffee. I really liked it. It was the first time I ever used one of those drop coffee makers, and I figured a good amount was one scoop for each cup of coffee. The carafe held 12 cups, so...
I happen to like coffee that you can chew.

I imagine you would serve that coffee black, since any stirring implement that you would attempt to use would instantaneously dissolve.

***O.D.ing on espresso...a noble goal. I heard once that the darker the roast, the less caffeine. If thats true, several shots of espresso should be lower in caffeine than, say, three cups of coffee. Or, possibly, I have no friggin idea what Im talking about.***
I’ve heard the same thing, from a coffee roaster. To illustrate, he gave me a raw coffee bean to gnaw on.
Very soon after, I had a full-blown caffeine buzz.
