Pollack and O'Hanlon returned from eight days of meetings with US generals, diplomats and Iraqis saying they were more hopeful than they had expected, seeing signs of market improvement.

"I dismiss it at as rhetoric," said US Representative John Murtha.

"I don't know where they were staying. I don't know what they saw. But I know this: that it's not getting better," Murtha said on CNN television.

I never thought of it like that. I am sure they have thousands of positive pics from Iraq ~ just holding them without dates.
Then, if a pullout starts or a Democrat wins the white house, they can release all the positive news.....yeah, I can see NYTimes doing that.

I also believe that Michael Yon is THE reason why the NYT had to take notice. The NYT was also present during Operation Arrowhead Ripper and saw the tremendous successes and very few civilian casualties with their own eyes.

It was before my time.........but was there a “MURTHA” in US government during WWII? I mean I am sure there were senators that didn’t care for the war, but were there outright traitors that gave comfort to the enemy in congress back then?

No worries. Probably the best source for pics would be some of the milbloggers that are in theater now. The only reason I commented is because I’ve seen these same photos used several times over the years, and when I was over there from 03-04, none of us were in our chem suits like the guys praying.
