Canadian girl admits to stabbing her eight-year-old brother

A Canadian teen accused of murdering her family told a hushed courtroom she stabbed her eight-year-old brother, but her much older boyfriend slit the child's throat, said reports Wednesday.

The girl, who cannot be identified under Canadian law, told a jury in little more than a whisper that her boyfriend, Jeremy Steinke, had killed her parents and then ordered her to stab the little boy, said the daily Globe and Mail.

"He yells at me, 'Stab him, just stab him! Slit his throat!"' she testified.

"I said, 'I can't, I can't,' and he said, 'You have to. I did this for you."'

The jury in Medicine Hat, Alberta heard over and over that the girl, now 13, had regularly talked about killing her parents, but did not mean it.

Prosecutors said she was angry that her parents had grounded her in an attempt to cool her relationship with 23-year-old Steinke.

According to the Globe and Mail, the girl testified her brother pleaded with her for his life, saying, "I'm scared. I'm too young to die."

She said she stabbed him once with a kitchen knife "somewhere on his upper body," but could not do anything more, the paper said.

The girl claimed that angered Steinke, who was covered in her parents' blood and panting on that fateful night in April 2006, so he grabbed the boy and slit his throat.

Unable to watch, she heard her brother trying to breathe, she said, weeping on the stand. "He was gurgling."

The girl also admitted to having sex with Steinke in his trailer after sneaking out of the house one week before the slayings, and again in a friend's apartment while her family lay dead, hours before their bodies were discovered by her brother's playmate peering through a basement window.

"I loved him so much. I thought it would bring us closer together," she explained.

Steinke faces three charges of first-degree murder in the killings, but has not yet entered a plea and no trial date has been set.

Its just chilling. There are times when I think we should lift the proscription on executing children - this being one of them. Someone who does something like that to their own kin should never again be allowed be allowed to draw breath in this world. I'm resolute against evil and I want it extinguished - not understood.

Does Canada have the death penalty? If not, it’s time to get it!

Her parents, may they RIP, instilled great morals in their daughter.

Children killing children.
The fruit of the Culture of Death.
It’s okay - it’s a “right” - to murder defenseless unborn infants for convenience’ sake.
What did we, as a society, expect was going to be the result?

This charming soul is named Jasmine Richardson. A fascinating description of her and her loverboy is available here. People sometimes wonder what replaces religion in a post-Christian society. This is a good example of it.

I am just amazed that a 12 year old could get away with even being in the vicinity of a 23 year old.
I would have locked her in her room and thrown away the key.
And the cops would have been called in to take care of him.

That said, she’ll most likely be out of jail by the age of 21 and pregnant within the year.

That's what I thought, too.

I feel really, really sorry for the parents --- they certainly did not deserve to die. But I can only imagine their own morals if they raised such a daughter and allowed her to behave she did.

Both Jeremy and Jasmine have been in police custody since their arrest. Regardless of whether or not she is convicted, Jasmine's age will prevent her from serving a lengthy sentence. According to Canadian law, Jasmine, now 13, can only be sentenced to a maximum of 10 years in prison, and no more than six can be served while in custody. Jeremy, on the other hand, whose preliminary hearing is set for March, could be sentenced to life without parole for 25 years.

Sheesh.
Loverboy gets out of prison when he's 48.
That's Canadian justice?
