BOYDS -- A mother who found the bodies of her two children hanged in the woods Tuesday off Barnesville Road told their father about two weeks ago she wanted to end their relationship, according to Montgomery County Police Chief Tom Manger.
The bodies were found after the children's mother received a call from the father, Gerardo Roque, who was apparently distraught over their relationship, police said. Roque, 35, threatened to harm the children and told the mother where she could find them, police said.
"She found all three of them hanging," Manger said. "She got her children down. Officers were there almost immediately and started performing CPR on the children."
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore ruled Wednesday the cause of death of the children was murder by hanging, and the father's death, suicide by hanging.
The officer were unable to revive Maria Socorro Danforth, 2 or Carlos Diego Danforth, 1. Police are not releasing the name of the mother because she's a witness.
Manger said the parents were not married, but lived together in a trailer on the Good News Farm, where they both worked at one time. A check of police and court records for reports of domestic violence calls or protective orders came up empty.

In this latter case, the poor children were a 3 year-old girl and a 1 year-old baby boy.
We're all in a state of shock here. What kind of man could do this to innocent children...HIS OWN no less.

You are correct, that big hole of violating God's commandment - specifically: "Thou shalt not commit adultery". That is loving others or things more than the Lord their creator.
"Thou shalt not murder" (kill in some translations). This is murdering someone in your mind. This is something the boyfriend did long before he killed the children and himself.
"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy Heart and Soul and Mind and thy neighbor as thyself". This is about loving the Lord and following his commandments which they did not do. They did not obey him regarding marriage or having children out of wedlock.
Yes, it was the result of violating the commandments: an old term called sin. There is only one who can deal with sin, and that is the Savior - The Lord Jesus Christ.
If you find yourself murdering folks in your heart, loving people or things more than your creator; cast yourself upon the Lord Jesus Christ before it is too late and we hear another story like this.
Seek the Lord while he may be found - do not delay. For the penalty for the above is death - whether the world acknoledges it or not.
Here a Hispanic man (illegal) became enraged at his girlfriend, tied a rope around her neck and dragged her behind his car for about 20 miles.
What kind of people do this type of thing to babies?

Yeah it’s her fault that HE killed these little children. Always blame the women.
I don't think they have determined yet who killed the children. The mother is still missing.

Well, he is clearly off his rocker. Maybe part of the backstory was that they weren't 'HIS OWN' (caps yours), and that helped drive this disaster.
Just shows to go you, a person should never lose their cool over a spouse or a lover. It's not worth it. I'm consistently amazed of the posts I see on FR that liken adultery (or comparable domestic scandals) as this unspeakable catastrophes. It's akin to the sick mentality that drives 'honor killings' in other parts of the world, or the kind of revenge mentality that helped drive this man to this terrible double-murder.
If your spouse or companion dumps you, take a few days to feel sorry for yourself and then start dating someone else. Some people are whacked. Seriously, look at the bright side.
No doubt in my mind her body is in the Catoctin Mountains or in the woods someplace nearby.
Too true. Remember the hierarchy of priorities I posted on that divorce thread:
1) Your health.
2) Your integrity.
3) Your mission.
4) Your relationships.
Anyone who doesn't keep their priorities in this order is headed for big trouble.
Actually, I'm not saying it's her fault. Some guys take it too far due to insecurities, being control freaks, or some other type of psychological problem. I've known guys that seem to be regular old joes about everything, until their relationship goes south and then they go crazy in all different kinds of ways. Alcoholism, depression, suicidal tendencies, etc. It just seems to me that women can handle ending a relationship better than most men. Not blaming the woman at all.
Life sometimes deals a person a difficult hand, but it’s not a reason to flip out of become murderous. I’m not arguing that it won’t or shouldn’t make a person angry, self pitying, bitter,or whatever. That’s normal and most people would feel that way. That being said, it must pass.
Going to prison for a long stint because of a spurning lover just isn’t worth it.
Your hierarchy is very wise - I wish more folks were in tune with it.

Lets see, spend the rest of my life in prison for murder, or spend the rest of my life with someone who really loves me and wants to be with me.

I do not approve of having children outside of marriage, ~but~ this mother just watched her two children *hanging* from a tree, somehow managed to get them down, tried to help them, watched paramedics try to help them, watched them die...:*(
“Slutting around” really not relevant here, IMO, from one mother to another, I would not wish this experience on my worst enemy. :*(
