UPI's Pamela Hess--lets her slip show
C-Span ^ | 3/9/07 | Rodguy911

C-Span's Brian Lamb had UPI war correspondent Pamela Hess on as his Friday "close the show guest". The interview lasted some time, she took calls and I got to see about half of it.

TOPICS: Military/Veterans
KEYWORDS: gwot; hess; iraq; iraqifreedom; upi; wot
I thought I would see just how long any msm left wing supposed major journalist could go without showing their left wing bias.(In addition it's too bad Lamb has made such a "left" turn over the past few years, I recall a time when C-Span was not as left leaning as it is these days. ) Answer was "not long". IMHO her big mistake came when she referred to our troops as "near invaders",(or words to that effect can't remember the exact words), of Iraq instead of what we are which is liberators of Iraq, securing and saving the population from a brutal dictator that used to commonly gass his population. We are the saviours of the country not an invading force. But then I didn't expect al-UPI to get it right anyway.

She then went on to mention casually how she had gotten some of our troops to state that they too would be bombing the invading force if it happened in our country, quite a stupid comparison I thought. Anyway it was not surprising to see that the msm, especially at the top have not changed their stripes at all but only gone more to the left. Just makes more work for us here at the New Media.

I think your perception of a left-wing bias comes more from the radicalization of the press corps that appears on the network.

UPI's Pamela Hess--lets her slip show,

With these looks she should be wearing a burka, which would hide her slip and everything else.

Yeah that's for sure.
I wonder what I did wrong to have this put in gen. chat instead of news/activism. I started off there and then someone moved it. I post comments a lot but seldom create a thread, maybe this is why.

If these leftist pigs are successful in the downfall of America, the powers that replace this Republic will put a bullet in the head of sows like Hess a.s.a.p. because what will replace her freedoms now will eliminate the chance of her perfidy toward their power. But fools like Hess cannot see thwt side of their treacherous behaviors.

CSPIN ought to be labelled.....enemy combatants.

They are far far left now. Not even trying to be objective or even handed. Not a single host can claim any integrity at all.

The callers are blatant liars about their political affiliation, and CSPIN just loves dem callers on the republican line.

Yeah it is ironic that most of the lefts heroes would just as soon take their money and put them out to hard labor in a milli-second given the chance.

For the life of me I can't figure why Brian swung so far to the left. I guess when in doubt look at his funding and if it all comes from msm nets than that must be the answer, they must have leaned on him pretty hard.

Nah, I doubt anything like that. My guess is that c-psan funding comes primarily from other nets and they probably just leaned on him and told to come with a more l/w slant(as they do) and he probably had to.

If you had watched the entire hour, not started with a preconception, and actually listened to what she had to say, you would have discovered that rather than spouting leftist talking points, she said that many Iraqis who formerly fought with the insurgency are now supporting the Americans. Also one of her main points is that the Iraqis need our help to fight against the evil (her word) perpetrated by the insurgents against the Iraqis themselves. In this she was agreeing with what she described as the attitude of American commanders she had interviewed.

She also said that people should get over whatever they believe may have been the mistakes in getting into Iraq and look at what needs to be done now.

It was clear from the callers that many of them, from both parties, found her to be extremely impressive, and her attitude to be refreshing compared with almost everyone else who has discussed the situation in Iraq on C-SPAN.

At one point during the interview she became emotional when describing how the insurgents had shot a 14 year-old Iraqi boy in the face four times while his father was in the back of the house getting them water. She actually shed a few tears, but instantly pulled herself together and said, "That was very unprofessional." This only seemed to make her more endearing to all the callers from both parties after that.

IMHO she provided a clearer picture of what is going on in Iraq that a lot of other people who have appeared on C-SPAN, partly because she spoke quickly and was able to convey a lot of information. She was careful to say, however that she was only speaking about her personal observations.

Brian Lamb read an email from one viewer who said that Lamb should go home and just let Pam Hess talk for an hour and a half. My impression was that probably a lot of other viewers were agreeing with this and that it was one of the most memorable and impressive interviews I had ever seen on Washington Journal.

As for her looks, one caller described her as beautiful. She obviously doesn't try to be beautiful, but watching the emotions run across her face, I found myself liking what I saw.

My guess is that c-span funding comes primarily from other nets

C-SPAN funding comes entirely from everyone's cable bills. C-SPAN is paid for by cable providers.

I agree. Kudos to Pamela Hess for actually going to Iraq and reporting the extreme valor and goodness of our Troops. She found out first hand what evil really is all about. For all on this thread who don't approve, please watch the video before putting a burqua on her head.
