"Even though I honestly had not planned on doing this, I guess with a billion people watching, it's as good as time as any. So, my fellow Americans, I'm going to take this opportunity right here and now to formally announce my intention..."
But suddenly the Oscars orchestra struck up its keynote tune, signalling that Gore and DiCaprio had overstayed their time and had to leave the stage

I'd give anything if he would run. He would add the third ring to the three ring circus.

Yes, I saw it. He wasn't really announcing his candidacy--he was joking.
Of course it's Al Gore, so it's kind of hard to tell sometimes. ;)

I want him to run. I don't care what his real chances might be. I do not fear any of the major candidates of either party any more than the others. He would definitely add some entertainment to what is shaping up to be a national disaster no matter how it comes out. I pray that the good supremes that we have will all hold up for 20 more years.

Gore is probably THE threat that any Republican nominee will face. Rumor has it he's been greatly enriched through his Google options, one "insider" saying he could jumpstart a campaign from his own pocket.
IMO Obama's candidacy has sunk Hitlery, and it looks like the two will genuinely come to hate each other within a few months. Hitlery also will do herself extreme damage by running a slash-and-burn campaign against Obama.
OTOH Obama doesn't have the creds to run for POTUS. So with Hitlery being naturally repellent and becoming even more so over the next 6 to 12 months, the only choice for the Rats will be Gore.
So the remaining question is whether Gore - who sits on multiple boards, is now quite wealthy, owns two companies, and now has his filmmaking hobby - will be interested.

I believe that he is going to run again. He's going to let Hillary, Osama Obama, and John Edawrds duke it out for the next nine months. Then Gore can be the shining White Knight who rides in to save the day once Hillary and Obama have knocked themselves out of contention.
He has a solid loony left backing, a proved track record as a winner (/sarc). With Hillary, Obama and Edwards bloodied from a brawl, Gore can show up as a uniter take Obama as VP and run to the center.
Whether he can win the general remains to be seen, but I think that he would do very well in the primaries.

I have absolutely no stomach whatsoever for watching what amounts to a Hollywood democratic circle-jerk.
I haven't watched the Oscars in years, and after what i've heard about this years liberal orgy, I am quite satisfied with my decision.

I agree. I think he is going to wait awhile & then let the people "clamor" for him to run - he's got the youth votes locked in, they love him.
I've said before, I don't think Hillery will be the candidate. I saw on Fox & Friends this morning that her camp has announced that no one is allowed to ask questions of her on the campaign trail about her husband's past indescretions or record as president. Pretty soon, Her Hindness will have to "go into hiding" to be able to campaign effectively.
Of course, the media will be only too happy to help.

I want him to run, and I'm not ruling it out yet.
A few more weeks of Her Heinousness and Obama sniping at each other, and he might decide he could very well jump in and take the nomination from both of them. Throw in the fact he and Tipper both hate The Witch, and it's going to prove very tempting.
As for Edwards, I don't think anybody is taking him really seriously. Like McCain, he's had his 15 minutes, now he's jumped the shark...

Yes, I saw it. He wasn't really announcing his candidacy--he was joking. At least he has a sense of humor. Hillary is filled with hatred and will do nothing but settle scores and prosecute enemies once in office. Gore seems like a decent guy who is misguided about the environment. Given a choice, I would take Gore over Hillary in a heartbeat (not to mention over Obama Hussein, who is sure to re-convert to Islam as Presdient).

I wondered whether Gore as President would force federal agencies to falsify their reports to conform to his fantasies. The answer, evidently, is Yes.

Gore, vice president under Bill Clinton, narrowly lost the 2000 presidential race to now-president George W. Bush.
Now that is scary. Good Lord, we would all be wearing turbans right now and singing kumbayyah around an organic compost heap.
