When it comes to reputable sources of broadcast news, you think Dan Rather, Tom Brokaw, hell even Simon Rex was a VJ. The one thing all three have in common though, is that they were given a proper forum to retire publically to their viewers.
MTV'S KURT LODER HAS BEEN FIRED! reports a Viacom insider.
In a follow-up to the previous post about MTV's Valentine's Day Employee Massacre, this news comes in the form of a personal "shock & awe".

Heck South Park had a joke about him being way too old to be on that network years ago!

How on EARTH did this Colmes-like corpse hang on so long there? One of the eterrnal mysteries... MTV constantly shifting their content to fit each succeeding class of teenagers, yet this old fart (who NO ONE was a fan of) stayed cemented in place for 20 years.
He had some exec's pictures, that's for sure.

In Kurt's hay day he got all the good interviews. Madonna, Pearl Jam, just about anyone who was hot at the moment. When Cobain committed suicide he went on MTV live several times to warn of the affects of depression and urging anyone considering doing the same "DON'T!"
I liked him. He gave a little credibility to MTV. Their loss!

Felling rather old now.
I remember MTV before Loder when they actually played music video's 24-7.

"How about Nina Blackwood!" When I was a kid, we used to watch her. My friends and I swore she was high 90% of the time. We were kids from a sheltered environment in the South, we didn't know what high actually meant.
I wonder what she is doing well these days...

The link is not working for me. Did they say it was because he is too old? Wouldn't that be discrimination? How old is he?

I remember MTV before Loder when they actually played music video's 24-7.Many, many afternoons of my adolescence were spent watching Guns N' Roses, Bon Jovi, Dokken, Ratt, Twisted Sister, Poison, et al, on MTV before my parents came home.

How could anyone miss Kennedy?I thought she was hot, in a nerdy-girl-next-door kind of way.
