What New with Newt?

What's up with Newt?
Why is his face and voice all over the media nowadays?
Is he running for Prez? No, he's not running for Prez, IMHO.
He's running for VP. He can be a kingmaker and probably realizes that he has that role in his grasp. He can be an even more powerful VP than Dick Cheney.
Just imagine: Add a Gingrich VP role to a ticket headlined by a Pres. contender named Romney or Giuliani or McCain - the ticket has immediate gravitas, to use a lib word. With the Newt on the ticket, he addresses any and all weaknesses associated with the Pres. contender.
Newt for VP is a strong and natural selection.
My preference, Condi + Newt just ain't going to happen since she won't run, so I look to Newt to crown the next Republican King.

Newt as V.P. unstoppable, Newt as nominee means defeat.

Likewise, so am I.
I've committed enough to Newt that I'm seriously considering saving my bonus when I get it in a couple of weeks so that I can take a month or two worth of unpaid leave to go and work for his campaign in either Iowa or New Hampshire come the winter.
Perhaps it's time that we had a pinglist or something.

Romney-Gingrich The cure for liberalism (please take every 4 years as directed).I like it. And Duncan Hunter as Sec of Defense, and Rudy Giuliani as Homeland Security Director. Perfect.
To: Rembrandt
I have heard suggestions that he is already working with Giuliani as something of a senior advisor/consultant to help him stake positions on presidential matters. Shame Newt isn't running, I'd rather him over Giuliani any day.
To: Mount Athos
If Newt is working with Rudy, my opinion of Newt just was lowered a great deal. Newt as a Presidential candidate is not a good thing either - his two divorces and the circumstances surrounding them tarnish him greatly. Newt would be best as a policy adviser.

If Newt is to become a serious contender, he will have to return to his attack dog ways.
The media are rubbing their paws with glee at having the prospect of destroying him once again.
He will have have to own them, pure and simple. When they ask one of their loaded questions, he will have to bite right back like an Arkansas hound (like Carville).
I think Newt likes his professorial, avuncular mien. But it won't get him points with the lapdog media. They'll be nipping at his heels from the day of his announcement.
He'll need to go after them like Schwartzkoff on steroids. He'll need to be the old "bomb-thrower" Newt again.
"Trouble rather the tiger in his lair than the sage amongst his books
for to you kingdoms and their armies are mighty and enduring,
but to him they are but toys of the moment
to be overturned by the flicking of a finger."

Great cabinet line up. Now that is the ultimate Dream Team. The best part is I could definitely see those two getting the nods too.

I gather that it is good strategy to have a Republican Vice President that Democrats hate more than the President. An impeachment or assassination of the President, would result in a less popular (with Democrats) President. Agnew and Cheney fit the bill. Democrats got rid of Agnew, and then it was open season on Nixon. Democrats tried to get rid of Cheney but failed. By this reasoning Newt would be a good choice for Vice President.
BTW, I like Newt! I also like Mike Pence. I don't know anything about Romney. I did hear a portion of a talk he gave in Israel about the Muslim terrorist threat. He sounded very good to my ears. I don't know anything about Hunter. Another VP possibility would be John Ashcroft. Newt or Ashcroft as President would drive the liberals wild. Perhaps that is endorsement enough for either the number one or number two spot.

And where, dare I ask, should we put McCain?
To: Rembrandt
Hillary would never debate a Newt / Giuliani(VP) / or Duncan(VP) matchup..
Would make her look very bad.. not debating..
Gingrich would eat her alive.. with gravitas..

National Security Adviser. Defense is the only thing he is right on. Lieberman for Secretary of State. Gives the Administration a Bipartisan air while putting in someone who will not be a appeaser in state.
As far as getting this thing started, I think the republican nomination will be locked up before easter of 08'. The democrats I think will have one hell of a bloody nomination and could go all the way to the convention. We could have 6 months of unity and hard campaigning against the Dem's before they even settle on a candidate.

Yes! You are right. Oh, Spikey, if only we ruled the world.

The only reason Newt is being ubiquitously featured in the media is because he is endlessly carping at the current administration.

Newt was the best thing that came along since Ronnie. His Contract with America gave us 12 years. Too bad the Republicans didn't finish completing the assignment.
Regardless, the Newt bashers will bring this up:
