I think it's kind of clever. To me, the point is that the people there at Wal-mart, at the checkout counter with all the celebrity gossip magazines, put Angelina Jolie in the position of the Mother of God.

Fifteen years ago, there could have been a similar picture with Princess Diana.

I am never comfortable when celebrities are made to look like Mary or any other Christian symbol. Personally, I think Angelina Jolie, an openly bisexual and very ungodly person, is an extremely poor choice for this.

Artists today have forgotten that for 500 years, artists included the faces of all kinds of celebrities in their works of art, mostly religious works of art. People who backed the artists were angels, and their enemies were demons in Hell.

Actually, if there are any very talented Freeper artists, you would become famous overnight if you painted a picture, Heaven on top and Hell on the bottom, showing the angels in heaven as prominent republicans and the demons below, and the damned, as democrats.
