It's that time of year again. Ahh, just the sight of a Kwanza candle makes me conjure up images of women being tortured with hot irons and vices...Oh wait, that is what the creator of Kwanza was convicted of. What Kwanza should do is conjure up images of a fake holiday designed to promote marxisim and provide a "blacks only" alternative to the white man's Christian holiday.
But hey, maybe it's just me. So if the rest of you haven't got your Kwanza gifts yet. There's still time to stick it to the White Christians by going to Walmart.com and buying your Kwanza garb today!
I'm certainly pro-Christmas, but how is it sticking it to Christians to buy Kwanza crap?
In 1971 Karenga, Louis Smith, and Luz Maria Tamayo were convicted of felony assault and false imprisonment for assaulting and torturing two women from the United Slaves, Deborah Jones & Gail Davis. [4] A May 14, 1971 article in the Los Angeles Times described the testimony of one of the women: "Deborah Jones, who once was given the Swahili title of an African queen, said she and Gail Davis were whipped with an electrical cord and beaten with a karate baton after being ordered to remove their clothes. She testified that a hot soldering iron was placed in Ms. Davis's mouth and placed against Ms. Davis's face and that one of her own big toes was tightened in a vise. Karenga... also put detergent and running hoses in their mouths, she said." They also were hit on the heads with toasters.
I refuse to recognize Kwanza.
> Then again, most of my family celebrates a holiday that was created to coincide with the Pagan solstice. They claim it is to celebrate the birth of their lord, but he was born in MARCH (when the Romans took the census), NOT December. ;-)
As an atheist, I couldn't care less when or how any religious celebration is made, but you can hardly hear the word "Christmas" mentioned without someone adding that it used to be a pagan holiday, etc. Yet until fairly recently I never knew about the criminal background of Kwanzaa's founder--seems like they could mention that as frequently as they mention the Christmas/Pagan thing, since the guy is still around and those events so recent.
Agreed. Of course, in private, Kwanzaa is considered a joke by most people, including many black folk.
Because that was the primary reason it was created by a Marxist radical professor in California in the 60's. Do a google seach for "The truth about Kwanza" and you will answer your own question.
I have to be careful here; I am tempted to take all of this too seriously. Kwanza, indeed! lol Maybe there should be a registry of the faithful, so that, at a later time, and if ever necessary, we can identify some of society's real fools and tools. lol
I'd heard of Assault and Battery,
I've never heard of Assault and Toaster before.
