My crib ^ | 10/28/06 | Me

Posted on 10/28/2006 6:12:22 PM PDT by MotleyGirl70

Here's the deal with pictures:

I'm trying to hook up a DVD player to my little t.v.

That's it. I followed the directions and nothing is happening.

There are yellow, white and red cords and I put them in the holes and nothing happens. Two hours and I still get nothing. FReeper help needed...please.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks! I'm at my wits end :)

Yes, I put the batteries in the remote.

My t.v. remote is on the left and the new one is one the right and those are the cords.

Are your tuning your TV to "line in" instead of channel 3? You'll probably need to.

Is your TV switched to video or video disk (VTP) setting?

Do you have a s-video cable? If so try that...

I don't know what s-cable is. I'm not running on any cable channels; just standard (NBC,CBC, ABC and PBS).

There is probably a button on your tv remote named "Input". Turn everything on and press that button.

Your TV and DVD player are s-video capable. It's that black, round, looking connection. The s-video cable can take the place of your RCA plugs to transfer sound and video to your TV.

Sometimes video devices broadcast on channel 2 rather than channel 3 but not often.

Does your T.V. remote have a video mode/input Selection?

The picure of the backside of the TV indicates that it should have that option.

Nope. Oh well. I was all excited to watch my first DVD tonight too. Maybe my t.v. is wrong or something. I can take back the DVD player tomorrow to Best Buy.

Ensure your video-out (yellow plug) on your DVD goes to the video-in on your TV, and your DVD audio-out(white plug) goes to your TV audio-ins - white for L and red for R.

No. It's just a little Sony flat screen. Maybe I can't have DVDs on it.

You don't need to take it back...

Does the TV have a "plug in" like what is in postion 9 on the DVD player?

I see three sets of video-ins/audio-ins on your tv, make sure they are plugged in the correct plug-ins...in a perpendicular line -- top-to-bottom.

From what I see, that T.V. is capable. There is someing in the set-up of the DVD player not alowing it. See if you can find, in the instructions, settings for an NSTC T.V. From what I am seeing, it showing you how to hook it up to a HDTV T.V.
