Should have been for the season, at a minimum.
He should be arrested and tried for assault.
The sorry sob should have been banned for life for that stunt.
Wouldn't have bothered me if they did. I was actually surprised it was this many.
I could not agree more.
Ricky Williams gets a year for being in love with Mary Jane, Haynesworth gets five games for assault.
Unbelievable.
"5 games? There goes my vacation home! "
Yeah their drug policy seems to be more harsh than their physical assault policy.
Beat me to it
The guy literally ripped off Andre Gurode's helmet and then kicked him with his kleats near his eye. And for no good reason. They hadn't been talking trash or anything. Haynsworth simply lost it. He deserved even harsher punishment. Having said that, I think 5 games is the new NFL record for the longest suspension because of something that happened on the field.
Somehow I don't think Haynesworth will appeal the decision.
Hey MPF,
Are you listening to Fred Smerlas and Steve DeOssie on WEEI? They talked about how this would have been dealt with on the field in their day...
Of course. I never miss Patriot Monday.
I'll be surprised if he sees the field again.
Jeff Fisher was as angry and disgusted as I've ever heard him.
I wonder if the Titans can deactivate him as well?
That lousy suspension is incentive to send a scrub out and deliberately maim an opponents key player.
Well he told Parcells after the game that if they (the Titans) didn't think the league did enough they would punish him further.
