Would a more computer savvy FReeper kindly tell me how to correct it?

Are you talking about the tool bar at the bottom of the page?
If so, click on it and drag it down to the bottom, then release the mouse button.

Probably a middle ear problem.
Seriously, check your display properties and see if you have a box checked for either "portrait display" or rotation.
You may need to check the "advanced settings" menu.
It's a great practical joke in the office.

Lots of possibilities. Two come to mind.
1. If you've got a graphics card, the software for it can be used to rotate the display.
2. Some monitors (particularly new flat screen models) have a button that will rotate the display.

The key is to give it a good shake so that the sand completely erases the screen. Then rotate with the two white knobs at the bottom and you should start seeing results.

Right click on your desktop and go to "Properties", then "Settings". Change your Screen Resolution until your screen adjusts correctly/right side up.

Let me make sure I understand: your screen is displaying sideways, as in the bottom of your screen (where your start bar usually is) if now on the left or right side?
If so, this is a setting that can probably be changed under the Display option in the control panel (click Start -> Settings -> Cotnrol Panel - > Double click Display).
Now, odds are that this is a setting with your video drivers that are driver specific. That means I can't tell which screen to look at as I don't have those same drivers on my machine, but this setting will likely be in there somewhere. The first place I'd start is once I had the Display settings box open, I'd click the Settings tab and then click the button labeled 'Advanced'. This is where most of your driver specific settings are going to be.

Your monitor has buttons on the lower frame below the screen. These buttons allow you to focus/adjust the screen display. You probably/inadvertently pushed them by mistake. Once you enter the menu you can find the rotation menu and "flip" the display back to it's upright position.
You must maintain this position until the Captain extinguishes the seat belt sign.
When in doubt there's always the dreaded monitor documentation!!!! But you probably misplaced it anyway or it's still in the monitor box which is buried in your shed and/or garage!
Good Luck!

Hey JimRed,
I'm using Win2000, but WinXP should be similar:
1) In your system tray down at the bottom right (er... side for you ;-) right click on the icon that says Intel Extreme Graphics (I'm assuming you have integrated Intel graphics - it might be called something else related to graphics depending upon what's in your PC).
2) Then select Graphics Options, then grpahics properties, and then click on the "Rotation" tab. I believe yours will probably be set to 90 degrees.
You can also get to this control panel from the windows start menu by going to the control panels, and then going through: Display Properties --> Settings --> Click on the Advanced button --> Intel Extreme Graphics --> Graphics Properties --> Rotation.
If you have a higher end system with an actual video card, or a chipset not made by intel, things may be a little different, but similar. Let us know if this works...
