Jessica Simpson was banned from singing solos in her church when she was younger, because her breasts were too big.
Simpson and her sister Ashlee have recently been attacked by religious groups for blatantly using their beauty and their bodies to promote their careers.
The Public Affair star reveals her first attempts at a gospel career were derailed because of her sexuality.
She tells Allure magazine, "I was always criticised for my looks in the Christian world. They said I was too sexy to sing Christian music. "Judgemental is the absolute worst thing about Christianity, I believe."
Simpson claims her breasts were even bigger when she was a teen adding, "But I was always so shy about them because I felt they disabled me from achieving what I wanted to do. They would never let me sing solos in church, because they said I made the men in the congregation lust!"
Did they sing topless? What gives? I assume they had robes to toned down their pulcritude. Unless this was the "Church of What's Happening Now."
Something doesn't sound right.
I suspect it wasn't so much her breast size as what she wore over them.

If she was asked not to sing in church it was probably because of the way she dressed, not the way she's built.
I'm assuming this story is completely fabricated.
After all, her father was an assistant pastor when she was growing up - I doubt they'd block a pastor's kid from the choir.
That said, I am Jessica has a point. I doubt if she dressed like that as a young teenager.
I have no idea who Jessica Simpson is, but we always had busty women/girls in the choir. This girl is obviously an airhead who thinks way too much of herself.

That might have been what her parents told her to make her feel better when she didn't get to sing solos in church. I think the truth is more in the fact that her live voice doesn't sound anywhere as good as her studio mixed voice.
You have to remember what is correct at the time. Organ music in church was once deemed satanic. Some still believe that music in church is sinful. And dancing??? With a woman??? It's ok if you're David making a fool of yourself on the street, but make sure you don't dance with a woman!!
