Seems to be the pattern. I remember in 2003 they didn't crack the top spot until the end of the regular season.
Reggie Bush had a bigger defenseive impact than Mario Williams. At least with Bush the D could sit on the sidelines and catch their breath.
Looks even bleaker from the inside. (I've been a Raider fan since the early 70s -- Raiders in the AFC, Giants in the NFC). Did you see some of the fans in the stands last night? Quite an angry bunch, and all of it directed at the home boys. Poor Al Davis -- the guy looks like he's knocking on death's door, and his team is an utter embarrassment.
I agree, but if I would be very concerned if I was part of that coaching staff.
Giants @ Philly will be a game to watch. I give the Giants the edge, but the Giants will have to earn it.
I'm an Eagles fan, but I expect the Giants to rebound after a tough loss. I also think that the Eagles have a few things to sort out (as you said last week's win over Texas was not a real test). Bottom Line: Giants win 21-17.
Yes. Bruschi hasn't played yet, either. I am concerned about the loss of Branch, however.
SUCK-SUCK-SUCK! Sorry, instinctive response.
Same situation applies--I didn't watch the Jets game. Come on, Jets versus Titans, like heck I'm watching that without any financial incentive. Depending on the status of the Dolphins/Bills game, I might tune in to the Patriots/Jets game though. It'll be interesting to see how the team responds to losing Branch for good, and what won't work on Mangini.
Is the problem near the goal line more the running or the passing game?
It's going to be fun when the Saints and Texans next meet.
Turnovers are great, but field goals just won't cut it for long.
But in spite of the "ugly" win last week, I think next week will be the breakout game for Stephen jackson.
I know it's early but this could be a big win for Philly. If they win they'd be two up in the division on the Giants and the loser of the 'Skins-'Boys game.
In Bill we Trust.
Agreed -- game of the week.
....although 'Skins v. 'Boys and Jags v. Steelers are good games as well.
Well it's not like Mangini can exactly surprise Belichick either.
At this point I would say neither. I would say it's play calling. There was no effort to pound the ball in the red zone, and passing plays were being called when the D was in a nickle package.
Hmm. I'd pound away with Jackson down there.
You bet. I heard they're selling copies of his grey sweatshirt now.
I like the Obi-wan-Kanobi look.
