I was just at Publix supermarket here in Florida and picked up a package National Deli Premium Beef Franks. They are $1.99 but with the yellow Dollar Off coupon right on the package, it comes out to only 99 cents per package. This deal has been going on for about 3 weeks. Okay, National Deli might not be the best hot dogs out there but they are better than most so it is a very good bargain.
Which brings me to the REAL purpose of this Bargain Hut thread. I would like to see it as a running thread in which Freepers post retail bargains they find at grocery stores or department stores plus their geographical location. This would provide a great benefit since it would allow us to quickly find the latest bargains. And when I say bargain, I mean REAL bargains. Not lame 10% off stuff.
So go ahead and post any retail bargains you find in this thread. Then check back frequently to easily find the good deals. In my own case I would love for someone to keep us updated on the latest Albertson's meat deals. They often have good Buy One, Get One Free meat packs but since Publix is nearer to me, I am often too lazy to check it out at Albertson's.
Publix is always clean and the employees courteous.
or something. You have a reputation to uphold after all...
Don't be shy, folks. Post those bargains here.
You're welcome.
I just like saying Publix :)
This one might've expired about 40 (!) years ago.
I only wish we had DOUBLE COUPONS here in Florida like we had in Los Angeles. Do they still have double coupons out there? That was when all coupons up to a buck were automatically doubled by the supermarkets. Just about all of them out there did that. Sometimes I would buy 10 bucks worth of stuff for only about a buck. Mennen's BO sticks would sell for a little over two bucks and with the dollar coupon doubled they would only cost me a few cents. Frank Sinatra spaghetti sauce only cost me about a quarter when the coupon was doubled. I miss those double coupon deals.
Well so far as I know, Kroger doesn't.
I couldn't tell you about Meijer or the new (gasp!) Walmart.
That's really all we have to choose from where I'm at where I live...
I shop at Publix for just those reasons.
Another California bargain was the Delta L.A. to San Diego flight. I think it was only only about 9 bucks round trip.
A stewardess I met at a bar told me about it. For some reason a certain Delta flight that ended up the night before in L.A. had to shuttle over to San Diego in the morning. So I checked it out and she was right. So I made a few round trips to San Diego for no other reason that it was cheap. I didn't really have anything to do in San Diego but I just had to take advantage of that deal. What I usually did was take a bus from SD airport to downtown SD then switch to the Tijuana Trolley and cross the border to load up on cervezas in TJ. Then back to SD for the flight back to L.A..
Marshalls, Ross for Less, T.J. Maxx, Tuesday Morning, Goody's, and Big Lots. Those are my bargain hunting places and I check them all out on a regular basis.
I remember that stuff!
Um...so don't keep the bargains hidden. Post them here.
Target had half price on frozen TV dinners.
But they were all past their "Best Before" date.
Bargain hunters beware.
Didja check the date on those hots PJ?
They're okay. Okay another bargain. Unlimited Tri-Rail travel in South Florida for only $4 per day on weekends. You can travel as much as you want between Miami and W. Palm Beach. Oh, and if you have a student ID card, only 2 bucks.
One never knows what will be found at those places as the inventory constantly changes. I may find something at every one of them and at other times zilch.
Ross For Less, Marshalls, T. J. Maxx, and Goody's are great places to look for clothing (I never, ever go to the mall any more for that stuff). Throw in Tuesday Morning and all of them are great places to find gifts, stuff for the home, and knicknacks as well as holiday decorations.
With the exception of clothing Hobby Lobby is a terrific place to shop for home decorating, holiday decorating, and gifts.
Ebay is also a great place to shop for bargains. One has to be careful though. I'm an old hand at Ebay shopping now.
