CD Baby ^ | 2004 - 2006 | Bob E. Lee

"PIECES OF BLUES" is Bob E. Lee's first recorded documentation of his interpretation of "the blues" as seen through his eyes. Bob E. Lee is a twenty-year veteran of the Chicago Southside blues scene. His guitar and blues-harp, give voice to the emotion of a life-lived in the shadow of the steel mills. Bob's powerful voice, along with his talent for story-telling, combined to create his own personal experience of the blues.

Bob leads the "Bob E. Lee Blues Band," a group of talented and diverse group of veteran blues musicians who perform regularly at blues clubs and festivals, etc... throughout Chicago, it's suburb; Joliet and Northwest Indiana.

Bob has opened shows for Chicago's own Lonnie Brook's and his well-established son Ronnie Baker Brooks. He has jammed with the likes of Chicago blues guitarist John Primer (of Willie Dixon/Muddy Waters bands), legendary drummer Vernon Rogers (of the late Junior Well's band), Mike Wheeler a.k.a. "The Chicago Playboys," and Vino Loudin to name a few popular Chicago blues musicians. He has also shared libations with the late great Hound Dog Taylor.

Bob began singing at an early age during the Elvis-era singing songs like "Hound Dog." Bob has been singing all of his life and sites the late great Ray Charles and Muddy Waters, Luther Allison as well as modern-day musicians like Johnny Winter, Lyle Lovette and David Bromberg as major influences.

Bob E. Lee's "Pieces of Blues" CD, is a "must-have" for any blues music enthusiast, who seeks good solid blues-based music that is seasoned with variety for the listener, it is also a snapshot of the future of where this music genre is headed.

Just a shameless plug for an old friend who I've recently reconnected with after not seeing him for literally decades; his renditions of "Mustang Sally" and "Give Me Back My Wig" really brought down the house!! I posted this on our IL board as well and figured one good turn deserved another.
