Im suprised at your number one choice considering the male praying mantis gets eaten after..well, having "fun". Its good to be the female in the mantis world :o)

Doodle bugs (ant killers), I remember catching them as a kid, and passed it on to my kids. June bugs, would fly into everything and girls hated them... : ) <<< me

There is a version that can roll into a perfect ball and one that just fold in half- more or less and has flared sides pn its plates. We call those SOw bugs.

Apis melifera. The European honeybee. It has probably pollinated more food than you can think of. Some vegetables need pollination, some can have their production enhanced with pollination. Since most of our crops originated in Europe, the bee is best suited and can be commercially propagated.

During the 1980's when the tracheal and Varroa mites began to decimate the honeybee populations, other types of bees, solitary wild ones, were counted to see if they could fill the void. Answer: no.
