I'd cut the hours in half if his Father agreed to come along.

Since so many here want so much to forgive Mel Gibson for his anti-semetic tirade and beligerent behavior towards law enforcement I was trying to come up with the best punishment.
Last time I checked, anti-anything remarks were not illegal. Attempting to prosecute someone for "naughty words" sounds very stalinistic. He was nailed for OUI, the penalties for that are already in place. Other than that, it should be dropped.

Punishment for what? Offending you?
His crime (if convicted) was DUI. For that he should get what the law dictates.

I think he should be scourged, made to carry his cross while being taunted and beaten, then crucified.
Let the jews do it though, I am washing my hands of this one.

I have a real problem with this piling on of Mel Gibson.Sure, many of us are disappointment that he has feet of clay.
....
But he's not Satan incarnate or even Bill Clinton!
Enough already.
He's just a man....a flawed man, like many here....
..who, no doubt, is paying bigtime and catching extreme flak from his wife and family.
Cease and desist already!!!!!!!
There are enough tragic events....world events....that we could/should put our minds to.

Why should I care what Mels Gibson's punishment out to be?
He was drunk in public. He tried to run from police. He ran his mouth.
Let the justice system deal with him.

And people who complain about "Merry Christmas" and the true meaning of Christmas should spend a month of Sundays at an evangelical church.

Since so many here want so much to forgive Mel Gibson for his anti-semetic tirade and beligerent behavior towards law enforcement I think I'd wait until he was found guilty before deciding on a punishment.

Great idea. I'll bet he hasn't heard of the Holocaust, and will have a change of heart once he learns about it. /s

From what I've heard, there has been an allegation that an officer changed his report and left out Gibson's alleged anti-semetic remarks.
Has it been proven that Gibson really made the alleged remarks? If he made anti-semetic remarks, he cannot be legally punished for exercising free speech, even though it's offensive.
If it can't be proven that he made the anti-semetic remarks, why the condemnation?

Hollywood won't punish him since even the liberal Jews seem to hate Jews.
I guess I'd make him take Anabuse drugs for starters so he'd get sick if he tried to drink.
