As I said, if you follow the logic, the liberals did it to themselves.
Why can't the ancestors of Confederates be a protected group? They lost the war. Surely, they must be victims.
Under the law, they have what is called "failed nation status".
A failed nation does not have to be accored recognition in the courts.
HOWEVER, if the issue is that of ancestry and discrimination based on ancestry they can have a case if they can show some form of discrimination along the lines of those who were discriminated based on skin color. These days that is a VERY low standard.
