FYI the "I" in IBM is for "International". Most of their employees and business are outside the US, and have been for years. That's what happens when an American company gets big enough to dominate the worldwide industry. It's kind of hard to provide close support, consulting and sales around the globe if all of your employees are sitting in the US.

I find it interesting that while Microsoft has offices and employees in virtually every country on the planet, he considers it to be an American company because "it pays taxes here" but IBM is not an American company because of the number of employees it has around the world.
Just another example of cognitive dissonance, I guess.

IBM doesn't "dominate" at anything, except maybe the percentage of US employees that have been outsourced to foreign countries. They have a horrible habbit of threatening to withhold benefits from those who refuse to train their Asian replacements prior to layoff.
