This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
We're going to go on a trail ride this morning (he took the day off) and then out to dinner tonight :~D
Welcome, everyone, to the new thread :~)
Terrific, and I'll certainly add you to the list! Welcome!
Miss Targets pings most mornings to the thread.
We love pictures on this thread, if you have any to share!
Those theraputic riding programs are really a neat thing. I hope you'll tell us more about it.
Hey, contrats on the 2nd anniversary!!! Have a great trail ride. Y'all are two very lucky people to have such a nice shared interest.
Welcome to the thread from a fellow Alabamian! I live up near Moulton.
Thanks, we feel lucky :~)
Thank you for your welcome. We're in Auburn. BUT, in July we'll be moving to SE Asia for an extended visit there. We'll return in two years when the youngest graduates from high school. She's hoping to be one of the first students in AU's new Equinne Management major.
Thank you for your welcome. We just got a brand-new camcorder and failed to get the proper cable for our computer. That should come this week. When it does I'll post some stills and a link to some video I'll put on our web site.
Terrific :~) We'll look forward to that :~)
Moulton? How bout that. I started over at the Brown's Ferry plant a few weeks ago. I was asking some of the guys if they knew where I could buy a horse for riding while I'm here. It looks like there would be some nice riding around these parts.
I'm staying in Decatur, so you may know of something in this area since Moulton is only about 20 miles from Decatur.
Anyway, if you have any suggestions, let me have em.
I am a little further south of Frog in Blountsville, there are plenty of good places to ride around here. Welcome to AL.
Happy Anniversary! Couldn't think of a better way to spend it.
Welcome to the thread:)
Congratulations, Hair and ecurbh, have a nice day:)

I haven't tried Tri-Hist, yet. There is a fairly new product called Re-Covr that I may ask my vet about. The generic name is, and I've seen it spelled 2 different ways, is Tripelennamine or Tripplennamine. Here's a couple of links:

Congrats on the anniversary! Wow, you're still newlyweds. :)
Wow! THAT's about as far away from South Alabama as you can get and still be on the planet! How exciting! The Equine Management major sounds really interesting. Tell us more about it. What kinds of things will she be studying?
Well, ain't it a small world. The last I heard, you were planning on going to the Houston area. There's lots of good riding over in Bankhead Forest. Most of the pictures I've posted were taken over there. Lots of big rock bluffs and streams. You're more than welcome to come ride with us some time. One of my riding buddies has 3 spare horses that he's always willing to have somebody ride. That is if you don't mind riding gaited.
