Drive by Media

A drive-by Media (sometimes referred to merely as a MSM) is an attack on a person carried out with one or more reporters, usually automatic RNCFL (ReportNowCheckFactsLater) or sub-standard reporting from a news briefing room, (or a cubicle on the 40th floor of an unnamed MSM headquarters). They often result in the falsely Reporting of innocent conservatives because the objective is to overwhelm the target by a sudden, massive amount of false reporting without attention to accuracy. The CBS - American News Anchor, ""Gunga Dan" Rather, is believed to have invented the drive-by Reporting. Drive by reportings were popular in the 1970's Washington era and were usually carried out by one or more reporters equiped with something called an "Informant" which were really RNCFL.

Drive-by shootings are popular among reporters (and NYT members in particular), because the reporters is already in the getaway news van. One of the first documented drive-by reportings in the United States was during Watergate, Washington Scandal of the 1970s. Drive-by Reporting became common during the Media wars of the Internet Blogs era.

The CBS took it the drive-by reporting elevating it to military tactics, when reporters fielded Conservative People (regular people replated with honesty, love, and decency sheets) with a mounted reporter gun on top (The Helen Thomas). Drive-by reporting of Republican political leaders has been common in some regions and eras, 1970-06 (Blue States are especially dangerous to the conservative species); they have been used extensively in postwar Iraq.

"The CBS - American News Anchor, ""Gunga Dan" Rather, is believed to have invented the drive-by Reporting."

No, it was used on McCarthy and the anti-communists of the 50s, including RMN, and if you read "Hollywood Party" you'll see the communists in America using it even earlier than that.

I think there should be a requirement that corrections of inaccuracies be given the same exposure as the erroneous story. So if a debunked story appeared as a headline on the first page of a paper, the correction should appear as a headline on the first page, with a full explanation of how the error came to be published.

Expand that policy to television, all corrections must be given as much airtime as the erroneous story.

If this eats into the media's profits, perhaps they'll think twice about running inaccurate or deliberately false stories.

Amen to That! This is why I get the DOD reports direct and don't even read the newspaper anymore...

If it's not FOX news, I don't watch it! Furthermore, I go out of my way to avoid whatever the MSNM is printing because of what you've just mentioned!

My website, News Sarasota.com, is where I take the DOD and other News Reports, not "news stories - written 2 or 3 or 4 different ways", and put them up for the World to see...

I applaud you for your efforts and know more people are now becoming aware of the 'dupe and scoop' game the MSNM is playing on Americans and the World...

"Drive by Media" may need to be entered into Wikipedia. A Google search comes up Non-Sequitur.

I agree with the thrust of your well-written analysis. But I have to keep reminding myself that, as Napoleon said, we shouldn't necessarily ascribe a bad act to evil when it can be ascribed to ignorance and/or incompetence.

Listening to many journalists--including Helen Thomas and many so-called "intellectuals"--in discussions, I am struck by how facile their arguments are, how poorly thought out their positions are, and how little intellectual and philosophical grounding they have. Of course, Thomas was "educated" before the romantic notion of the journalist crusader became extant in universites, but I believe that ignorance to be partly a result of journalism tracks in higher education being the second easiest of the majors. Without some culling in the course work, many physically attractive, but empty-headed, people ascend to the top of the "profession."

There are certainly useful idiots in their ranks, but don't ever imagine that Satan is not behind leftism.

Yea...The recent election in Peru was between a Communist and a Crook. I heard that the Christians in Peru are glad that the crook won.

The astonishingly low quality of reportage by the Drive-By Media continues to amaze, and depress me.

Journalism, particularly the television variety, has become a bizzare amalgam of Max Headroom and Mad Max...

they are never at a loss for words, but their words hardly ever mean anything useful or informative.

It's all memes, talking points and chatter used to fit a template.

I can't recall exactly where the endpoint was, but somewhere during that God-awful "Golden Age of Clinton" ( hattip, Wash Times Wes Pruden ) I just quit talking to most over on the Left. It became apparent that nothing, No Thing, would shake their cheerleading for what was obviously ( at least, to me ) the most corrupt, downright criminal administration I had ever lived through.

Maybe I just need to retreat into the Y2K bunker for a while...

( "Dig a hole, jump in the hole, and pull the hole in after you!" hattip: Bugs Bunny, I *think* )

LOL. I love that EIB group shot of the drive by media. They have spun so much nonsense over the years that all you can do is laugh at them.

I think the odds are high that Haditha will turn out to be an invention of the Drive by Media. Time Magazine has been making corrections to their story. Check out the backpedaling at Sweetness & Light.

The strategems and tactics were developed in the exposes of magazine shows like 60 minutes where reporters with hidden cameras allegedly exposed businesses under the guise of being consumer advocates. There was no recourse against such exposes except filing a lawsuit which could be heard five years later. Often media colluded with police and claimed that as their alabi for misrepresentation.

Over the years, Rush has had so many good parodies ( like Paul Shanklin's reworked songs ) of our, ahem! "friends" in the left wing that left me in stitches.

I learned long ago that most left-wingers take themselves Oh! So! Seriously! and cannot stand to be poked fun at.

Yes it does. And sad that a term we throw around here like infield pepper isn't really well-stated on Wiki, yet that fits to what I know of all of what wiki is, or can be. The voice of the distended and confused.
