The Old America. Limestone Drug.

That pic really brings back a heartache, my America before I headed to Vietnam.

"Started the new job today. ...snip-... then spent the rest of the day in the old office...but at least if the dingbat had so much as said "boo" to me, I could've told her to pound sand"

Hey, now, thats real progress. Just think how lovely it will be when your "dingbat" withdrawal is finally over and you can enjoy life again. LOL

If you try, you can still find a few places like that but they're fading fast.

CG Is that really you ? What a nice surprise. Oddly enough, I was thinking about you just last week and then "poof" like magic, right out of the blue, you appear. LOL So good to see you and to learn that hubby is improving. I hope that means you'll have some time to spend with us. :) Hope you had a splendid anniversary !

How kewl is this ? Prime Minister Maliki was genuinely surprised by his unexpected guest today. LOL
US President George W. Bush (L) greets Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki Baghdad inside the US Embassy during an unannounced five-hour trip. At least 36 people were killed across Iraq, including 18 in a bombing campaign in the oil city of Kirkuk, as Bush made a surprise five-hour visit to Baghdad.(AFP/Paul J. Richards)

I'm leaving the photo caption as AP ran it.... they just couldn't resist mentioning that in war some bad guys get killed.

Can't help but notice that we almost never hear about the good works and the very busy schedule First Lady Laura Bush maintains. BUT, we were force-fed a steady diet all about the Hildebest til we puked.

Sooooo, I checked and just this week alone, on Laura's schedule:

Monday. Two public but underpublicized events. Mrs. Bush joined her good friend Nancy Brinker, founder of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and women from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, at the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation’s 2006 Mission Conference in Washington, D.C. The First Lady announced the U.S.-Middle East Partnership for Breast Cancer Awareness and Research which allows governments, hospitals, researchers, and survivors to work with each other to help defeat breast cancer.

Also on Monday:

Mrs. Bush hosted a luncheon for Senate Spoces in the East Room of the White House. Cast members from the Tony award-winning musical Jersey Boys performed. Senate wives contributed an item from their personal wardrobes to be auctioned on Ebay. The proceeds benefit the Laura Bush Foundation for America's Librqries
