(snip) — KENNETT SQUARE, Pa. - Barbaro is enjoying a quiet Memorial Day weekend, good news for the Kentucky Derby winner who is a week removed from surgery for a life-threatening injury.

"Barbaro is doing very well and seems perfectly content spending his holiday weekend at New Bolton Center receiving abundant carrots, apples and veterinary attention," said Corinne Sweeney, executive director at the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center.

They make fine dogfood & glue as well.

Nasty. --- what a deficient mind you seem to have.

If you only would have just had a little more oxygen at birth.

Have a nice day.

Shunning...an excellent practice which needs to be brought back into use!

I am also for widespread use of guilt and shame, but shunning would be a good start.

He's getting what he wants. Attention. See? Now we're talking about him instead of about Barbaro. Let's practice shunning starting now!

Isn't that Barbaro just a big ole teddy bear? I've never followed a horse's health and life with such interest!

Thanks for the post.

I saw a bumper sticker the other day which went something like this: Lord, please let me be the person that my dog thinks I am.

That's the way I feel about horses.

LOL ......... I hear you.

But that poster, from what I have noticed previously, is usually a little more human or intelligent. Oh well......... I guess I was wrong.

You are so right on ALL COUNTS, Shimmer128.

Here's hoping this beautiful creature stays steady in his mind and progresses as he seemingly has!

Yesterday we got to see and take pictures with two of the Clysdale Horses at a fair we went to.

What magnificent creatures.

Horses absolutely love my daughter, we have no idea how or why they take to her, she stood next to and spoke to one of the Clysdale's and he actually turned is head to look at her, he did not do that with any of the rest of us, we told her she must be a horse whisperer.

Good Morning!! and thank you for the "no new news is definitely good news" ping.

I heartily agree with the well stated quotes you posted. We try so hard to put into words how we feel about these beautiful animals.

I care for "people" as much,...no more,... but the human kind is so often, well ... they disappoint my expectations,(as evidenced here by certain, not to be named, smart alecky posts). But horses, (as well as many other animals), but horses have a grace and nobility about them that has always attracted me. They are among the most physically beautiful of all of God's wonderful creation. They are a prime example of His genius. We are so fortunate to have been given their care.

Anyhoo.... thanks for the ping to the Barbaro update. Sure appreciate it. ;0)
