it's amazing (and depressing)that this mentality has survived to this day.
This should be a BARF alert.
I can not STAND that person. So much for Babs 100 greatest eh? I have to wonder where Imelda Marcos stands.... sheesh
Thank you for bringing it to our attention.
The fact that Babwah Wahwah is honoring this POS Jane Fonda just reinforces how I feel about her. My opinion on Hanoi Jane is solid and longstanding, given what she did while our men were being tortured in the Hanoi Hilton.
But everytime I wonder if I am perhaps being too judgemental on Babwah Wahwah...she helps me get over it.
The Democrats are still dreaming about Jane getting into politics. John Kerry was a the surrogate they had to settle for.
Thanks for posting, I will be sending it out.
There is plenty for which one might criticize Jane Fonda-- *Jane Fonda* for pete's sake-- without having to resort to a long discredited chain letter.
Too bad they didn't hang her back when she was committing treason.
Read this: http://www.snopes.com/military/fonda.asp
I don't know why Fonda is not on the cover of Time like the Dizzy Chicks. But I do know that Fonda has to be pretty steamed that she did not get a pulitzer.
She also has got to be mad that she did not get a Nobel Peace prize like Jimmy Carter and Arafat and Kofi Anan. Oh the horror, the injustice of it all. Life just is not fair.
1 - this "Top 100" list came out about 5 years ago
2 - this Jane Fonda story is bogus and has been debunked many many times
3 - thanks for playing
"Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the "100 Women of the Century"
Traitor ping
a partial list, but a major barf alert
If these are the women of the century, women are a pathetic sex.
Actresses, comediennes, and singers: Janis Joplin, Lucille Ball, Carol Burnett, Katharine Hepburn, Oprah Winfrey, Jane Fonda, Madonna, Bette Midler, Rosie ODonnell, Vivien Leigh, Hattie McDaniel, Jessye Norman, Maria Callas, Marilyn Monroe, Celine Dion, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Marian Anderson, Greta Garbo, Lauren Bacall ...
Artists Georgia O'Keeffe and Frida Kahlo. Photographers Margaret Bourke-White and Dorothea Lange. Dancers Martha Graham and Isadora Duncan. Poet Maya Angelou. Writer Ann Landers.
Sports figures "Babe" Didrickson, Gertrude Ederle, Sonja Henie, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Wilma Rudolph, Billie Jean King, Chris Evert, Nadia Comenici.
Aviator Amelia Earhart and astronaut Lt. Eileen Collins. Scientist Marie Curie. Fashion designer Coco Chanel. Executive Katharine Graham. The created figure of Rosie the Riveter.
Women known for their activism or political involvements: Gloria Steinem, editor of Ms. Magazine, Rosa Parks, Margaret Sanger, Jane Addams, Ann Richards, Alice Paul, Helen Keller, Annie Sullivan, Rachel Carson, Betty Friedan, Phyllis Schlafly, Marian Wright Edelman, Anita Hill (the transcript calls her Anita Thomas at one point!), Mother Teresa, Margaret Mead, Madeleine Albright.
First Ladies Eleanor Roosevelt, Jacqueline Kennedy, Betty Ford and Hillary Rodham Clinton. Princess Diana. Heads of state Indira Gandhi, Golda Meir, and Margaret Thatcher.
And, though she professes embarrassment to be included: Barbara Walters.
And we should be surprised by this? I'm not. There are many in our society today that could be put in the same classification of traitor and they are revered in their jobs. Congressmen, news media and the ACLU for starters.
Here is the break down on what is truthful and what is false from this e-mail (according to a site, whose credibility I can't vouch for):
Jane Fonda was honored by Barbara Walters in her special on ABC by being one of the top 100 most influential women of the century on April 30, 1999. True
The passing of slips of papers to Jane Fonda and subsequent beatings that caused the death of three men is False
The story about LTC Jerry Driscoll is False
The story about Col. Larry Carrigan is False.
The story about the civilian (Michael Benge) is True.

I looked elsewhere too and the FACT that she WAS honored as one of the top 100 women of the 20th century IS TRUE.

This is also forgotten.
