WASHINGTON -- Symantec Corp.'s leading antivirus software, which protects some of the world's largest corporations and U.S. government agencies, suffers from a flaw that lets hackers seize control of computers to steal sensitive data, delete files or implant malicious programs, researchers said Thursday.

I am having a heck of a time with the product. It wont completely uninstall and will not let me reinstall.
Frustrating.
It ruined too many cdrs back in the 00's. Would pop up while burning just to let me know it was there, and my computer was protected! PITA!!! Get AVG or NOD or just about anything but whorton!

IMHO, Symantec makes the most detestable software around - even worse than AOL. How they stay in business (to say nothing of prominence) is a bit of a mystery, but no doubt has to do with their bundling arrangements.
