Lael Stable's Barbaro, who stayed undefeated with a dominating effort in the Kentucky Derby (G1) two weeks ago at Churchill Downs, was pegged as the even-money favorite against a very different cast than he last faced for the 131st edition of the Preakness Stakes (G1) on Saturday at Pimlico Race Course.

Nine three-year-olds were entered for the 1 3/16-mile Preakness, which will be televised live on NBC from 5-6:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday, compared to 20 that contested the Kentucky Derby. Post time for the Preakness is set for 6:15 p.m.

Do you have an ultra-exotic betting plan?

IIRC, one of the ESPN guys last night was touting a Barbaro/Diabolical exacta at 200-1.

I'm flying today, so I won't be able to get to OTB in NYC.

How have SNS's workouts been? I don't think he was 100% Derby Day, and got a bad start. He could win this race if he feels OK.

Barbaro will be 3/5, 4/5 at the track. Might find some value at Tradesports.

No serious work. The Derby horses are coming in off gallops.

I still like Sweetnorthernsaint.

I never play favorites although I don't go to the track anymore. Barbaro appears to be a Triple Crown threat.

Why not add Brother Derek to the mix, for a trifecta, and box 'em?
