I've been a lurker for a few years and thought people might find this interesting. There was a more in-depth article about the incident in The Independent Online Edition but apparently articles can't be posted to FreeRepublic from there. The other article shows how unapoligetic Mr. Spurlock was to those who were offended.

I've never seen his movie, so I probably shouldn't comment, but I've never understood why anyone would want to watch it. So he ate supersized McDonald's everyday and he gained weight. Wow. Maybe his next documentary can demonstrate the sky is blue.

Looks like Morgan Spurlock has a lot of fat between the ears.

Morgan Spurlock joked about the intelligence of McDonald's employees, about ''retarded kids in the back wearing helmets'' and teachers smoking pot in the balcony. The special education students in the back row were led by teachers out of the presentation

I have a son who was born missing his left arm from the elbow down. Perhaps Mr. Spurlock can come up with a joke about that, too.

I can't for the life of me think WHY they would have even had this man as a guest speaker in a school. He is an idiot and his film's hatchet job of McDonalds came straight from the "Micheal Moore School for Twisted, Full of Lies Documentaries".

I saw parts of the movie. It seemed very "Michael Mooreish" - propaganda loaded, presenting emotional arguements without logic, and an obvious nanny state agenda.

At the end he boasts about getting perhaps helping getting rid of the "supersize" option.

Thanks a lot.

I would go with a carload of kids and get a couple of supersize fries. A lot cheaper than buying fries for each child.

They should've done a little background research on this guy before inviting him to talk at a school. Looks like the adminstrators at this school weren't doing their homework.

Rest assured Spurlock won't go quietly in the obscure night. He'll continue to find demons, conspiracies, and inequities in our society to exploit for his own fame & fortune. The over/under on his relevancy is another 3 months, and that's exceedingly generous.

Most folks already say Spurlock, who? Has been, or never was?

This isn't terribly relevant, but-

The last time I was in a McDonalds, the only kid working was the one with Downs. That guy swept and mopped the whole place, cleaned the drink area, and policed up all the trays and other clutter.

Everyone else behind the counter, from my vantage point, was jaw-jackin' and standing around doing nothing.

I wonder if the school will host the woman who ate at McDonalds for a month and lost weight?

I can personally debunk his, "Super-Size-Me," theory with my diet.
Basically, McDonald's super-sized meals are never enough for me and haven't been for years. Yet to this day I'm still between 180-185 pounds at six-feet tall.
I have the dietary needs of a tiger.
Welcome to FR.

The probably have forgotten more than I know about selling food but I don't know why someone doesn't do a McDonalds type fast food with whole wheat bread and other healthier options.
