I'm a Blondie fan.
"Rapture" was a one of kind song back in its day.

The Sex Pistols, who compared the rock hall to "urine in wine," will be a no-show. Perhaps they were upset by being beaten to the hall by peers like the Clash, Talking Heads and Elvis Costello. "We're not coming," Johnny Rotten and his bandmates sneered in a letter posted on the band's Web site last month. "We're not your monkeys and so what?"
The band was damn clear as to why they are boycotting the event. Tickets for their table cost thousands of dollars.
The Ramones had to pay something like $2,500 so that the original drummer Tommy could sit at their table and watch as his successor (Marky) was inducted (for continuing the beat established by Tommy).
And the boycott isn't because they can't afford it. John Lydon invests in property and lives in LA. He's worth an estimated $10million.

And they don't hate America! They ROCK....love our country, the troops and are great Americans.
A big old US Air Force retired salute to Lynyrd Skynyrd, one of the best bands of all time.

I never really 'got' the Sex Pistols. The other bands mentioned -- Clash, Elvis Costello, & the Talking Heads -- were all better writers & musicians, IMHO. Of course there's always a place in Rock 'n Roll for a band with pure energy.

I'm a big Lynyrd Skynyrd fan and "Gold & Platnium" is essential for all Skynyrd fans--it has all their 70's classics on it.
It's a "must have" for any rock and roll fan, IMO.

Skynards new(er) release is even better, do you have "Thyrty"? It is 30 of their best songs which includes live versions of some of the greats.
There is another compilation coming out this month that will include never before released songs.
LS is the greatest band of all time.

Amen to all that. I saw them at the Ryman last month at a benefit.
They can really churn it out.

I've never been a big Cars fan.
Except for "Moving in Stereo", that's is a good song.
I heard Blondie is going on tour this summer. If she makes it to Summerfest in Milwaukee, I'll have to go see her.
