BTW, note that I included that line in the excerpt. I thought it was important for the same reason.

Bah... all these movies sucked. 2005 was a poor year for movies anyway. Even batman was barely worth watching.
And the less said about hitchikers guide...

One of the things people forget is that, with an exception here and there (American Beauty), Best Picture winners tend to be on the conservative side.

"My father was a cowboy, but not at all like these kind of cowboys," said Schmitt, who lives in South San Francisco. I don't doubt it.

What a bunch of selfish people, not only they want to impose their perverted agenda on America but they are sore losers as well.

They want acceptance into society as NORMAL.
They are not normal people and most do not like them.
Out of fairness to them in the workplace though, people tolerate them and as long as they do their job nobody cares who or what they screw at home.
But, in general, nobody but them want to hear them talk about their lusts, odd views and they will NEVER be accepted as normal in society because they are NOT!
We love the sinners, and reject the sin,
We don't parade sins or promote them as normal in most of the main stream culture.
IMO, that was the peak of gay cinema's attempt for acceptance and I think now you are going to see it decline in main stream movies.
Nobody likes them, and nobody cares about their lifestyle.
They can cry all they want, but all they do by forcing their lifestyle on mainstream America IMO is foster more resentment.
We don't care or want to know about their feelings, choices or who or what they are bedding these days. EOM

Actually one of the original reasons for the formation of the Academy in the 1920s was to fight the influence of Labor Unions in the film industry. It was the Big Studio bosses who started it.

"I felt like 'Brokeback Mountain' was a film that brought Americans together over issues of homophobia,"
LOL! He has to be kidding right?
It was an attempt by Liberals in Hollywood to make it appear that homosexuality is mainstream.

Although the crowd was disappointed, people were soon dancing to Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone," and spirits seemed to have lifted. Kelly Clarkson? If they had any loyalties, why not Clay Aiken? Oh.....I forgot. They probably think he's sooooooo ooooover. Puhleeeeze!
