Lessons here:
1. Long wars are unpopular
2. People have concerns are the methods being used
3. The Bush administation is not great at managing the press
4. It's easier to get people to choose Kerry in a mid term poll that doesn't effect who is in charge of national security than a real election.
None of this is new or particularly troubling.
what would be troubling would be if we let polls make us take our eye off the balls - the biggest balls in this case are the economy and a proper end to the war without retreat.

I didn't notice the date either. I too thought it was a "having second thoughts on the election?" sort of poll.

You, but the aging among us don't notice that right away, and it is bad for the blood pressure. I thought it was a poll about how folks today would vote between the two - for about a couple of minutes. That is two minutes too long.
