Being from NJ, and now living in CA - I'd have to take umbrage to these items.
- New Jersey has the highest cost of living.
- New Jersey has the highest cost of auto insurance.
- New Jersey has the highest property taxes in the nation.
Also, this is no longer true...
- New Jersey is home to the Miss America Pageant held in Atlantic City.
And this....
- You know that the state isn't all farmland.

And this....
- You don't think "What exit?" is very funny.

I don't know about cost of living or auto insurance, but, sadly, NJ outdoes CA on property taxes. I had this discussion with another Californian. There is a law of some sort in CA that prevents property taxes from being raised more than a certain percentage. When the Californian heard what I pay, he was floored. My property taxes were far higher than his, and his home was worth far more. :-(
