Hey great news. Do you think they will be able to find the reason or is it going to be a guess? Have they done anything to him other then pull his shoes? Is he still on pain meds?

He's on a much lower dose of pain meds and the vet says he seems happy and he's moving around readily. They took more x-rays this morning, no change since the last ones.

I honestly don't know if they will find a reason. Reading through that site I posted, it sounds like the shoer is trying too hard to correct his hoof pastern axis for one, and two, he's too aggressive in paring out sole. The farriers on that site say not to take out any sole at all on a horse like him, unless it's dead stuff that flakes away easily. Also, Tuffy felt much better without those elevated rail shoes so that could also been a factor in him being so sore. Before the vet came out this last time, Tuffy wouldn't move at all unless forced, then he would shift all of his weight back then kind of scoot his feet. It was heartbreaking.
